In Economic Benefits of Wisconsin's Nonproft Sector, Public Sector Consultants, Inc. a nonpartisan research firm presents analysis of data from over 30,000 nonprofit organizations doing business in Wisconsin. The nonprofit sector is growing faster than the overall state economy with expenditures of more than 67 percent from 1995 to 2001, compared to a 37 percent increase in gross state product.
The sector makes a major contribution to the quality of life in Wisconsin. It provides for cultural, environmental, health care and educational activities, and it fosters support to those in need through housing, food, health, child care and family services programs.
